Concept

Riviera Display Font is a homage to the french coast culture. It is inspired by the music, art and the easy life of Riviera.

All letters got their own kind of character, who tells different stories. Some reminds of music notes or art, and some of architecture and design. One main inspiration is definitely Pablo Picasso and his way of making abstract shapes.

It’s based on a handwritten typeface, then I filled and out-cut shapes, to make a feeling of irregularity and playfulness.
